Bob Marley - Trenchtown Dub (J Boogie Remix)

If you haven't yet gotten into J Boogie, give this one a listen.  An accomplished DJ and producer with a giant collection of awesome remixes and edits under his belt from San Francisco, J Boogie is pretty much the man.  This Bob Marley dub from a couple years back is pretty damn solid, and it's free. So get this on your playlists, and make sure you pay attention to J Boogie, he just keeps going and going.  Enjoy.

Bob by Andrew Mitchell

This is Bob Marley as painted by Andrew Mitchell.  Mixed media on 24 x 36 canvas, $400 + shipping (if necessary).  Please contact fingersonblast@gmail.com.

Andrew is the founder of Fingers on Blast, as well as the talent behind any and all visuals associated with the site.  He's created countless concert posters and album covers for an impressive list of artists.  This painting was inspired by the recently released documentary about the legendary Robert Nesta Marley.

The film is just one of many examples of how Marley's music lives on strong.  It is amazing to witness the power of his music and his positive message and love many years after his death.  Another example is visible in the video below taken at Digital Dreams festival in Toronto.

Major Lazer ends their set with Bob's classic track 'One Love' as they often do.  The popularity and the universality of the song and the lyrics are evident as everyone sings along, but the sense of total elation is something that you need to be in that crowd, singing to experience.

Burnin' and Lootin'

This song came on the old iTunes shuffle, and caught us off guard.  More clearly, catching Black Thought's voice on the tune was what did it.  Posthumous recording aside, the Roots and Bob Marley is a powerful collaboration. iTunes

This song was released in 1999 on an album that featured collaboration/remixes with the late Guru (of Gang Starr), Chuck D, Rakim, the Roots, and of course the famous version of 'Turn Your Lights Down Low' with Lauryn Hill.
